Philly needs Intervention
The act of intervening (as to mediate a dispute). I have said it before, but it is worth repeating. We have now put it in a shirt. The fans, players and owners need someone's help in Philly. The fans want championships, and I think the players do, too. I am not always sure about the ownership, but I think they want to be holding the trophy, too.
How do we get there? What do we do? Who is the person that will bring us all together? I think it is an easy place to get there but I want to remind people, in football only 17 of the 35 teams have won a championship. It is not easy but to get in position is easy. The players are the key. In the Phillies case the Phillies have a core of players that are the key. Tell me a better situation in baseball than the infield of the Phillies. I think you can not match that infield in all of baseball. They need to be the key about bringing other players to the team. They need to be out there trying to bring others to the team. They have to be happy to play in Philly and they have to believe that this is the place that will bring them the best opportunity to bring them home the trophy. When other players, on other teams, see that they will want to be apart of that. The Phillies are in the best situation in all of the Philly teams to do so. That is where it all starts, a core of players that need to be in place. We all saw that the Patriots had players that made other players want to be with them. They did not win, I know, but that is a start. McNabb brought T.O. to Philly and if the owners would have spent the money T.O. would still be in Philly and they would have been the team to beat. McNabb had his best year with T.O. I know that is hard to take for some Eagles fans but it is true. If the Eagles wanted to stay on top they need to get back into the swing of things and play the field. You want players that want to win championships. A number one pick in the draft is not better than a proven NFL player.
If you think I am wrong take a look at teams that have won Championships in the past, they have players that have played on other teams. They wanted to win so they went to teams that have the best chances to win. The Red Sox picked up a couple of players that made a big differences in the Playoffs. The core of the Giants players made a big difference for the Giants. The Spurs keep winning because players will take less money just to win. The Philly teams can be in the same position if the players and the owners sit down together and get on the same boat. The fans of Philly will follow. This is our new shirts and the saying is true.
